The Learnign Disability Resource Centre (LDRC) was formed in 1989 and provides services and resources for professionals and carers in the field of Learning Disability.

Emphasis is placed on positive thinking, co-operation, practical and innovative ideas, and making the best possible use of existing and evolving resources.

INFORMATION AND SUPPORT

The help line receives queries from care staff, social workers, residential homes, day centres, health workers, carers, voluntary organisations and students etc.

The service covers a wide spectrum of topics involving learning disability including medical questions, care issues, availability of services, funding, therapies, etc,

CONSULTANCY

MHRC offers expertise and practical assistance on a range of matters including:- the implementation of new practises, service development, training programmes, assessment of individual cases and placements.

PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT

Stress is now recognised as an important problem throughout the caring world. MHRC offers opportunities for all those involved in the provision of care to talk about their work in an informal and constructive atmosphere.
